It’s here. THIS weekend!!! I have ZERO idea how it came so quickly!
For as OVERtrained as BBIC and I were last year, we are for certain UNDERtrained this year. But no matter, it’s still here and we’re still going!
Not only are we going but we are GOING with (as of typing time!) $14,520 in our fundraising pockets!
Doesn’t that make you want to squeal with delight!! It does me!! Our team goal was $10,000, once we blew that out of the park we decided our s-t-r-e-t-c-h goal was $15,000. We are SO close! SO SO close!!
How’d we get there? I’ll highlight for you. But trust me, it can be done, anyone can do it. You should! You should just try it, do it once. Join our team! I’ll have to ask BBIC for permission but she does whatever I tell her to so it shouldn’t be a big deal!
First and foremost, we send letters, emails, FB messages, to everyone we know asking for money. I’ve found that if you ask for a specific amount people usually respond with it. I chose to ask for $60 this year, one dollar for every mile I will walk.
I partnered with an AWESOME local salon and hosted the BE PINK. BE PAMPERED. event. Guests paid $40 and were treated to 3 mini-services. It was a great turnout and a great time. My good friend and neighbor owns the salon, Ruscellos. All of her employees agreed to participate and we received the full amount, not a portion of it! We had a few raffles, drinks and snacks. Everyone was happy, everyone was pampered! We made a bunch of moo-lah for the ta-tahs!
Each of us hosted some kind of vendor party, jewelry and bags. The consultant gave us a portion of the profit and we used the ‘free items’ to auction off in our BIG Pink & Pretty Pig Roast! A double win!
One of those awesome painting while wine’ing places opened up in the area and they were more than willing to hold a fundraising night for us! It was open to the public, we went, we painted whimsical trees, we drank wine, and we made more money!
Finally we held our BIGgest event, the Pink & Pretty Pig Roast. We compiled over 40 silent auctions items. We had 4 raffles valued anywhere from $300-$500 each. We had koozies made up that said: 3 Days, 60 Miles, Pretty Badass with the cutest pig my friend Mike designed for us. We had an iPad mini raffle. We sold buttons that you could personalize and that we will wear while we’re walking. it was CRAZY and FUN! And we made more money!
(One P&P teammate missing from the party. Sad face.)
(Those last two photos were taken by Ninja Warrior Photography, she’s awesome!!)
So here we are! Each of us has reached our goal! Now it’s time for the miles to match all the money you gave us. We have an awesome weather forecast ahead and will be making more pit stops for adult hydration then we did last year. If you’re in the Cleveland area, come and wave us on!!
