Babe celebrated his birthday this past week.  He told the boys he wanted them to write him a story or make him a video.  I already had plans so the boys made some pictures!  As I hoped it meant so much to him and I’m sharing it with you because I’m sure it will be something you’ll want to do for the Babe in your life someday.

At breakfast I asked the boys what were some reasons they loved their Daddy, what were some things Daddy did that made them happy, what are some things you like about having Daddy as your Daddy… etc.  Between the two of them we started with 19 reasons.  I helped the girls think of some good ones… things like you are patient for my kisses, you tell me I’m smart,  and you share your dink with me (drink).  I used the last three to get us to 34 reasons — Babe was turning 34.  Before he arrived home I wrote each reason on a notecard — color coded for each child’s color.  Strung the cards to balloons and hung them around our dining room (similar to how I did the girls 1st birthday balloons.)  The boys were so excited for him to come home and the girls just kept pointing and squealing b’a’oons.

He read each one.  Loved each one.  Has saved each one.

Best gift ever.

Happy Birthday again Babe.  You really are the best Babe in the whole wide world ever.

**Somewhere on someones lovely blog they did something similar many months ago… unfortunately I don’t remember who or where and I didn’t Pin it.  If YOU are the lovely owner of this idea please tell me and I’ll happily give you the credit!**

This was by far the most meaningful birthday gift I’ve ever received. It’s up there with the Father’s Day video from my boys. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I was so excited (and surprised) to walk in and see the balloons — with attached notes! I’ve told so many people how much it meant to me. I was touched. Chosen Chaos is everything you could possibly ask for in a wife, mom, friend, etc. Love.

And no, that last picture is not staged… apparently I was so overjoyed I just looked like that. Like I’m posing! Ugh.
